Submarine

Richard Ayoade has created a perfect directional debut with Submarine. Its incredibly charming, funny and inoffensive. The direction is interesting and creative considering the rather basic plot line about a boy and his girlfriend/ family troubles with some pretty beautiful shots of Wales tagged on.

Its easy to relate to the growing mind of Oliver Tate (played solidly by Craig Roberts) and his teenage endeavours! The rest of the characters are as charming and down to earth.

Tight and well crafted, this is a debut to be very proud of! [A-]
