Once Upon A Time In America

An epic story in scale, running time and direction, this is undoubtably an absolute masterpiece! The directing at times completey blew my mind and reiforced how powerful a film can be as a piece of artwork.

Yes, it is long (at around three and half hours) but if you have the patience its well worth it (or you could watch it in two parts as I did). There is a real sense of journey and attachment through the character's harsh, violent lives and you feel their suffering from children to middle aged men.

Whilst I enjoyed The Good, the Bad and Ugly more mostly from an entertainment aspect, this is Sergio Leone's well deserved masterpiece in filmaking. [A*]
